Overview of Position:

Job Description:

The Dishwasher performs the following tasks: washes pots, dishes, silverware and puts them away; cleaning of equipment and refrigerators as assigned per the cleaning schedule; takes trash out to dumpster; clean kitchen and dish room floors; Utilize supplies and equipment properly and without waste; performs any miscellaneous work assignments as assigned; notifies Director/Assistant Director of Dining Services regarding supplies of poor quality or inappropriate items.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 50-pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking.

Job Description:

The Dining Services Aide assists in preparation of salads and desserts, preps vegetables for the next day and assists the Cook as needed. Works at meal serving station in resident dining room; transporting prepared food from kitchen to serving stations, prepares meal trays and checks for accuracy prior to being served, clears tables and cleans serving area after meal service. Washes dishes, cleans and sanitizes equipment and kitchen according to health standards. Prepares snacks according to facility procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 50-pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50- pounds. Frequent stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking required.
  • Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and dining service.

Job Description:

The Cook reviews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared. Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost quality with a minimum of waste. Reviews menus to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparing foods using nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.

 

The Cook operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers. Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams food items to prepare for consumption. Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits in preparation for use. Tastes and observes food by tasting and smelling for palatability. Meets meal schedules. Serves meals according to portion control. Slices portions of meat individual servings, adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required.

 

The Cook maintains the Dining Services Department according to established rules and regulations. Directs and assists in performing daily and scheduled cleaning duties. Assigns duties to dining services aides as needed. Stores food in designated areas, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements, food spoilage, and food sanitation. Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste. Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments, as may be required. Notifies Director of Dining Services or Supervisor regarding supplies of poor quality or inappropriate items.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares nourishments according to procedures. Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments, as may be required. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:
